Nationally, more construction workers die by suicide each year than by all jobsite fatalities combined. Join us to learn how to recognize signs of mental health stressors and how to provide support to workers in need. This session will discuss the importance of creating a mentally healthy workforce and the involvement of workers at all levels to help reduce the risk of suicide in construction. Learning objectives:
 
  • Demonstrate the business case for making this a strategic initiative.
  • Demonstrate how to begin the conversation and address the stigma of mental health and suicide.
  • Illustrate why mental health challenges, substance misuse and suicide are significant construction issues.
  • Learn what your organization can do to promote a mentally healthy workforce and provide resources to overcome mental health challenges.
  • Identify construction industry risk factors that impact mental health.
